The Dali

Updated: Oct 20, 2023

Salvador Dali is one of my all time favorite artists, so of course we had to make the trip The Dali when visiting St. Pete on my birthday. The museum is beautiful, designed by architect Yann Weymouth, the building combines the rational with the fantastical!

We visited during lunch time and grabbed lunch right on site upon arrival at the Café Gala. Café Gala is designed to create an educational as well as culinary experience by introducing visitors to Spanish food and history. Named in honor of Salvador Dalí’s wife Gala, the casual eatery embraces the heritage of Salvador Dalí by presenting a menu of light fare with a Spanish theme. Tapas and small plates of appetizers are a specialty, along with traditional pastries, soups (gazpacho and caldo gallego), salads and sandwiches. Diners may choose to eat inside or out on the Avant-garden patio.

With gallery admission you'll receive a personal audio guide and can view at your own pace. There is an option to do a guided tour as well. Check out the calendar of events to see what is on display as well as special events.

I've owned several prints for many years, one of them being The Broken Bridge and The Dream and I finally got to see the original in person. Next time you are in St. Petersburg I highly recommend adding this to your list! Don't forget to tie your wristband to the wishing tree on the way out!
