"If you love me, let me know it" -Mama Foo Foo

Updated: Apr 24

Delicious eats and the best photo ops Daytona Beach has to offer! Last year I stumbled upon this gem online and decided to make a reservation for myself and four others. We were blown away by the atmosphere, food and service! We ordered several small plates to share amongst the table as well as a few entrees and finished dinner with a complimentary champagne toast to celebrate my daughter's DIII national championship win at NDA.

Fast forward one year later and you know I had to put Mama Foo Foo on the agenda! This time it was just my daughter, Kami and I. We went for an early dining time on a Thursday night and while the restaurant was not too busy I do highly recommend making reservations. We had another another stellar evening! The waitress was a doll and took excellent care of of us. The food was to die for, the ambience was perfect and all around it was just a memorable dinner celebrating my daughter's senior year in college and last dance competition.

"Mama Foo Foo is about romance, business, family, and friendship.  She represents the need we all have to connect, celebrate, laugh, enjoy our company, and seize the moment."

This time we started the meal off with a couple of small plates. The S.S. Ceviche which is shrimp, diver scallops, apple habanero slaw, jalapeño and tomatillo. It was fresh and light with the exact right amount of kick! Secondly, the Saffron Arancini; arborio rice, fontina cheese, marinara sauce, parmesan. YUM! Kami went with Mama's Baked Ziti & Meatballs for her entree. This isn't your typical pasta dish, Mama's is made with wagyu meatballs and spicy tomato sauce. The ultimate comfort food! I went with the Honey Sesame Scallops; diver scallops, parmesan risotto, honey, sesame, roasted brown sugar carrots. Quite possibly one of my all time favorite vacation meals. The scallops were cooked to perfection with the honey glaze and the parm risotto was an excellent contrast. I enjoyed a "Broke & Famous" martini for dessert. Consisting of vodka, grapefruit, ginger & honey, this cocktail made the perfect digestif.

The menu is genius and I have loved every bite. Reading over the options there isn't a single item that doesn't have my mouth watering. The atmosphere is beautiful, intriguing and intimate. We stayed awhile, laughed a lot, talked about anything and everything, ate way too much and snapped a few insta worthy pics throughout the restaurant and outside. Some tears were shed.... when we realized Kami left her leftover Mama's ziti on the ledge when we were taking pics outside. It was a magical mother/daughter evening making memories that will last a life time and a reminder of our first visit there with dear friends that I am so thankful for. MFF is our spot and will be on the agenda each and every time we visit Daytona Beach.

We love you Mama Foo Foo!
