Eras Tour in Colorful Colorado- By Kami Sickels

On Valentine's day my wonderful boyfriend, Colton, surprised me with tickets to Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” and the planning for this trip began! The concert was 5 days after my birthday in July, which also happened to be Colton’s brother, Colby's 27th birthday!

Day One: Travel + Movie

Colton, Colby & I arrived in Denver around 1:30 and were so ecstatic to be back in our favorite place! Sending a huge thank you to John and Brittany Dietzler for hosting us throughout this trip! Providing transportation, meals, and so much more, we are so very grateful for you both! The first thing on our agenda was to get some dinner prior to going to the movie theater. Choosing the Junction Food & Drink dining hall for dinner was the best option, everyone could pick what they wanted and we all still got to sit together. It was also very convenient to walk across the street to the IMAX for the movie. We saw the new Mission Impossible movie as requested by Colton’s brother, Colby. It was a great movie and the perfect mellow activity for our first night in Denver. By that time it was very late so we headed back to get a good night's rest before the next busy day.

Day Two: Vail, Co

We woke up with so much excitement considering our favorite thing about Colorado is the view of the mountains and what better place to see the mountains than Vail! The full 2 hour drive we listened to Taylor Swift which just made me so much more eager to see her in concert. When we first arrived in Vail we made a pit stop at the village prior to exploring the mountains. Vail Village is the heart of the town.. It is a charming pedestrian village located at the base of Vail Mountain. It is centrally located within the Vail Valley, making it easily accessible for visitors. For lunch, we ate at Alpenrose Vail a beautiful traditional German restaurant with outdoor seating and food that was to die for! “With lovely prepared dishes from traditional recipes to fine classics and specialties, with a touch of international culinary inspiration.” I had the Schnitzel “rockies and roses” and it was light, yet filling which made the perfect meal before a long day of walking around! After lunch it was time to

explore so we took the gondola to the top of the mountains. Vail, Colorado is equally captivating during the summer months. While it may be renowned as a winter destination, the town and surrounding area offer a wealth of activities and attractions for visitors to enjoy in the summertime such as hiking, mountain biking, white-water rafting, and much more. In our case, we were not prepared for rigorous activities so instead we enjoyed the view and rode the forest flier mountain coaster which was such a fun experience getting to ride through the mountains! After we headed back down the mountain we explored the many shops that Vail has to offer. Vail is known for its upscale shopping experience. The streets are lined with boutique shops offering a wide range of merchandise. Overall, Vail is a destination that offers both winter and summer outdoor activities, breathtaking natural beauty, and a charming alpine atmosphere. Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast or looking for a relaxing mountain getaway, Vail has something to offer.

Day Three: Top Golf + Rockies Game

Our first stop of the day was Topgolf in Centennial, Co. I am not much of a golfer but Colton was definitely very excited for this part of the trip. Topgolf is designed to be a social experience, suitable for players of all skill levels. You can go with a group of friends, family, or colleagues and enjoy friendly competition or casual play. The lively atmosphere, music, and comfortable seating make it a fun environment for socializing and having a good time. They have different games that are fun for everyone! I have never even hit a golf ball until that day and still had so much fun! We enjoyed multiple appetizers as lunch but ultimately my favorite choices were the pepperoni flatbread and injectable donut holes! We played for two hours then headed back to freshen up before our next outing. The next thing on the agenda was to see the Colorado Rockies! The Colorado Rockies are a Major League Baseball team based in Denver, Colorado. They play their home games at Coors Field, which is located in the heart of downtown Denver. Coors Field offers a great game day experience with various food and beverage options, including local favorites like Rocky Mountain

oysters and craft beer. There are also interactive areas for fans, including the Coors Field Rooftop, which provides a social gathering spot with fantastic views of the field and the city. We enjoyed some smash burgers and drinks then spent the rest of the night on the town celebrating my 21st birthday and Colby’s 27th birthday!

Day Four: Taylor Swift's ERAS TOUR

The day I have been waiting for this entire trip! We spent the morning shopping around the Cherry Creek Shopping Center as a relaxing activity before the concert. Cherry Creek Shopping Center is a popular upscale shopping mall located in Denver, Colorado. The shopping center is home to over 160 stores, including a mix of luxury brands, fashion retailers, department stores, and specialty shops. It offers a range of options for fashion, accessories, beauty, electronics, home goods, and more. After shopping around awhile it was time to head back to start getting ready for the concert. Everything from doing our makeup, listening to Taylor Swift, putting gems in our hair, and using spray on glitter was so magical. Truly a time I will never forget! Right when we arrived we started trading friendship bracelets with little girls and even saw some officers participating in the bracelet trading! We felt so safe with Taylor fans, it was such a surreal experience. We got seated for the concert and the show was about to begin. The concert was a dream come true, Taylor Swift is known for her captivating live performances, which incorporate elaborate stage setups, stunning visuals, and energetic choreography. She played some of her hits from each era, my personal favorites were Lover & Speak Now. It was such an emotional time I’m not sure I can glorify this in writing. If you are a fan, you will know she does 2 instrumental “surprise songs” and I was so fortunate to receive my number one favorite song “Back to December” which I had been hoping for throughout the 5 months of waiting for this moment. I had the most magical night at the concert with Colton, Brittany, & John. I can't express my gratitude or appreciation for all of you enough, truly one of the greatest nights in my life. I hope every "Swiftie" gets to experience the Eras Tour!
