Birthday Weekend in Beautiful Treasure Island

Our favorite weekend getaway courtesy of a direct flight on Allegiant. Round trip flights cost about $125 a person. A quick and easy flight you can never go wrong with! We landed late on a Friday evening, took an Uber to the Thunderbird Resort where we would call home for the next three nights. Our first thing on the agenda, walk across the street to Ricky T's. Our favorite "inland" bar to grab a drink and snack. We've been there a hundred times and will always make the stop. My favorite thing on the menu is the Creole White Wine Garlic Mussels. We decided to try a different spot after Ricky T's so we took the Free Cab Ride to Swigwam Beach Bar per recommendation from our driver. We played a couple games of pool then hit Riptides before calling it a night. Riptides is another favorite open air bar off the beach.

We got up bright and early Saturday morning and walked next door to Sloppy Joes to meet friends for breakfast. That is usually our go-to breakfast spot when we stay at Thunderbird.

After breakfast we enjoyed the pool for a few hours then took the Free Cab Ride down to Caddy's on the Beach. There are several locations now but our favorite is the original, Caddy's Treasure Island. Great food, on the beach and usually has live music. I love going to the rooftop and enjoying a drink with the gorgeous beach views! After hanging out there for a couple hours we walked across the street to Ka' Tiki another open air bar with live music and home of the $3 cheeseburger! Although I wouldn't be caught dead eating a cheeseburger near the ocean, sorry Jimmy B! Grouper bites and fish tacos for me! After our fun in the sun all day it was time for quick power nap before we got ready for dinner.

I made reservations at Spinner's Rooftop for my birthday. Spinner's is an upscale restaurant with a phenomenal menu and spectacular views. "This revolving restaurant at the top of Bellwether Beach Resort - 12 floors up - offers literal 360-degree views. Perched at the top of one of the most iconic buildings in St. Pete, Spinners offers a unique beachside dining adventure. A favorite of both resort guests and locals, this elegant yet unpretentious rotating restaurant ensures there isn't a bad seat in the house, giving everyone the chance to soak up the views and the vibe."

Sunday morning was a repeat of breakfast and mimosa's next door at Sloppy Joes, some pool lounging then a trip up to John's Pass. I booked the the floating tiki bar with Cruisin Tiki's. We've done this many times and always have a blast. It's a super inexpensive way to get out on the water for a few. hours. We first tour some of the amazing houses then head out to a sand bar where we can hop off and enjoy the water for a bit. It's byob and usually they have a bluetooth speaker you can connect to. After our float we wandered around Johns Pass a bit then back to the Thunderbird to shower and grab some dinner. My sister met up with us and we walked to Ricky's for another tasty bite. All in all another great trip to Treasure Island!
